Download the DeCA example PDF (PDF, 10 KB, in Spanish like every DeCA). The data is fictional and the document is stamped DEMO, so it covers no transport.
What each part contains
- Header with the QR code. The QR code holds the document's unique https address. Scanning it, inspectors download the current PDF directly.
- Contractual shipper (cargador contractual): company name, tax ID and address of whoever contracts the transport.
- Actual carrier (transportista efectivo): company name and tax ID of whoever carries it out.
- Service: transport date, vehicle and trailer plates and, when needed, the special traffic permit.
- Shipments: one line per load, with origin, destination, nature of the goods, quantity (optional) and weight.
- Remarks: free text, such as "delivery by appointment".
- Changes during the service: every change made on the road, with its version, date and reason. In the example, a vehicle swap after a breakdown.
- Footer: version number and the date and time of creation and of the last change, which are also in the PDF metadata.
Does a paper or Word template still work?
Not any more. Since 5 October 2026 the freight DeCA has to be a PDF created natively in digital form, with a QR code leading to an https address that downloads it directly. A template filled in by hand, a photo or a scan doesn't meet the Resolution of 5 June 2026. Nor does a PDF made in Word if it has no download link inspectors can open.
So this example shows what data a DeCA contains; it isn't something to copy. We explain it in detail in the electronic DeCA is mandatory.
