What the driver must carry
Before the service starts, the driver must have a copy of the DeCA with its QR code, electronically on a mobile device or printed on paper. That's what the Resolution of 5 June 2026 says. At a check the driver shows the document or, if nothing else is available, just the QR code.
How the DeCA reaches the driver
With DeCA by Routyn, the driver gets it in three ways:
- By email: a link that always opens the current version in the phone's browser.
- On WhatsApp: the PDF with its QR code in the chat. Drivers can also issue it themselves from a photo of the delivery note.
- In Routyn Drive: Routyn's driver app receives it automatically, for Routyn customers.
No account or password is needed to open it.
What happens at a check
- The officer asks for the DeCA and the driver shows the PDF or the QR code on screen.
- The officer scans the QR code with their own device.
- The current PDF downloads directly from an https address, with no sign-in pages or buttons.
If the DeCA was changed on the road, for example after a vehicle swap, the officer sees the latest version with the change history and reasons.
No signal or a flat battery
The officer downloads the document on their own device, so it's enough that they can see the QR code. Even so, it's a good idea to:
- Save the PDF on the phone when it arrives, so it can be shown offline.
- Keep a printed copy with the QR code in the cab, especially on routes with poor coverage.
- If the DeCA changes on the road, print or download the new version: the QR code is the same, but the old paper doesn't show the changes.
How long the link works
The QR link works throughout the service and may be switched off seven calendar days after it ends. After that, the shipper and the carrier can still download their copy for a year. See keeping the DeCA.
